I have never been one to enjoy scary movies or Thrillers. I guess it's because my imagination gets going and I can't stop thinking about it. Which is why I choose not to watch movies like that because they affect me too much. I'm 22 years old. I should not have to sleep with a night light on just because I'm terrified. I think it's also because I don't like to feel scared or anxious. I like to be surrounded by happiness and love.
This post was inspired because Saturday night Kyle and I were at the store after going out to dinner. We stopped at the Red Box machine to see what movies they had that we may have wanted to see. Our original choice was Inception. But while looking through the selection of movies, Kyle came across Nightmare on Elm St., which is a movie on my "DO NOT WATCH" list. When I was in elementary school, I was enrolled in before and after school daycare. One afternoon, the teachers at the daycare made the decision to show the kids, one of the original Nightmare on Elm St. movies, and Child's Play, one of the original Chucky movies. Now, what possessed them to show those movies in a daycare, I will never know, but they did not force the younger kids, like myself, to leave the room. So, wanting to hang out with my big brother, I watched those movies. Let me tell you, I wouldn't play with my dolls for months, and had to sleep with the light on for years. So, now that you have an explanation for my fear of horror movies, we'll go back to Saturday night. So Kyle spotted the movie, and I also spotted Twilight Saga: Eclipse. I haven't seen it at all, so I have been wanting to rent it, only to be disappointed that it was gone before I could rent it. I asked Kyle if we could rent that along with Inception and I would watch it by myself, since he is not into movies like that. He said "I'll make you a deal. You can get your 'Twilight' movie AND I'll watch it with you, IF we can rent Nightmare on Elm St. and you watch it with me." Now, I'm one for compromises, but I've learned to watch my "chick flicks" alone because Kyle doesn't like them, so if I was to watch this movie with him, I was definitely going to hold him to watching Eclipse with me.
So I watched it. And I regret watching it because since I watched it, my nerves have been on edge. I am scared to go to the bathroom, to walk back to the bedrooms, and pretty much scared to be without Kyle. Luckily, I didn't have any nightmares that night, but I didn't sleep well at all. I woke yesterday from a restless sleep. Kyle and I came out to have breakfast and he was going to find some cartoons on Netflix to put on for Ashton. Well, he didn't really look very hard because he ended up putting on the Thriller "Frozen." Not a good movie to watch if your nerves are already on edge. This time I decided to leave the room, and was glad I did, because I don't think I could have handled it. Just hearing it added to my anxiety.
Now it came time to watch Eclipse. He sat with me but the whole time said "This is gay," or would just talk and distract me from the movie. I wasn't able to really get into it and enjoy the movie. I will definitely be either renting or buying it and watching it by myself while the boys are asleep.
So basically, I have decided to write off scary movies completely. I know Kyle enjoys them, and he can watch them any time he wants to. I will go to a haunted house with him, because the thing with that is it doesn't mess with my brain. From now on only movies that make me happy!

Mom Pride
I think that being a mom has to be one of the hardest jobs on the planet. I say planet because kids are kids where ever they are in the world. From tearing movies off the shelf, to throwing tantrums at bedtime, we moms go through a lot. Which is why I don't bother getting all cleaned up to just be thrown up on, pooped on and so much more. I was reading a friends blog and she made a comparison of moms to Bear Grylls ("Man Vs. Wild" & "Born Survivor") and I've got to say we endure some pretty difficult things. I hear quite often from Kyle that I couldn't do his job. My response, "You're right, I can't do your job. I don't know the first thing about your job. But could you handle a 2 year old and 4 month old by yourself for 12+ hours?" His response, "No, I would call you 15 minutes into it asking you to come home cause I couldn't handle it." I just nod my head and smile. In my opinion, women don't get the credit we deserve. Not only do we give birth to the child, but we change them, feed them, and nurture them. I will admit, I lose my temper. But what mom doesn't? But then I look at their sweet little faces, and smiles, and it washes away my anger frustration and stress. It makes all the mess and chaos around me disappear. I love my boys (big and small). They drive me crazy and make me want to pull out my hair, but at the end of the day, I wouldn't have it any other way.
I may not be very stylish, or have the body I did in High School, but I have something so much better than that. I have a family, and I'm a mom and proud of it!!!

This last week has been so great! It's amazing how going to church affects your attitude. Even though I was only able to go to sacrament meeting, it has greatly affected my mood! I am so thankful to have the gospel in my life.
I had a wake up call this week. I stepped on the scale, thinking I still weighed around 120 lbs, and was surprised to see I weighed 130 lbs!!! I haven't weighed that much since I was pregnant. So I decided to map out a little diet/exercise plan for myself. I have decided to do the Special K diet, and just do some at home muscle toning and strength training exercises.
We also bought a new car! Well, new to us. It's a '94 Pontiac Grand Am. It's older, but it's in really great shape for it's age. Plus, we got a killer deal for it! I am so happy that we have it! It means that I will be able to have a car during the day for a little while till we get rid of the Cobalt, but we are going to buy a truck for Kyle soon, so I will have a car!!!
I have done really well with my routine and schedule! I've been getting up around 6:45 everyday. The kids have been getting up earlier too, which has been nice since they nap earlier in the day and go to bed around 9-9:30. Which leaves me and Kyle more alone time together!
I would really like to blog more though. Once a week is good, but I'd like to blog maybe 2 times a week, that way everyone can be kept up on the latest events in the Walker's life!
Kyle did so great the past couple weeks at work that the painter gave him a paint gun. He was so excited to bring it home and show me, he was like a little boy with a shiny new toy!
I'm really hoping to keep my resolutions. I'm just going to take it week by week and hope they all fall into healthy habits!

Resolutions
I know it's a little late to be making my resolutions, but at least I'm making them.
First: Get in shape. I know what you're all thinking, "You are already so skinny!" I know I may be skinny, but I don't want to lose weight, I want to get in shape. I want to get my muscle back that I have lost over the past 3 years.
Second: Get into a better routine and schedule. Lately, I haven't felt very motivated to do much of anything, and I think that if I can get into a better routine and get myself and the kids on a schedule then I may feel better and get some things done.
Third: Get ORGANIZED! I have so many things that I just feel are so unorganized, i.e. the storage shed, paper work, my kitchen, my bedroom, the kids bedroom, the bathroom... Pretty much every single room in my house! Plus get organized with finances.
Fourth: Blog more. I know, that's not really important, but I have so much family that lives far away, that I just want to get better about posting the latest events in mine and my family's life. So it's really for the benefit of all of you that I keep this resolution.
So, along with my last resolution, I will just post what has been happening in our lives recently.
Triston has grown up so much and I just can't believe that he is already 3 months old. It amazes me how fast time flies. He is sleeping consistently through the night (knock on wood... I don't want to jinx myself!), which has been so nice. Although, he will wake up anywhere between 5 and 6 to eat. But he's sleeping 8-9 hours without waking up to eat! Now if I just went to bed when he did, then I wouldn't be so tired when he did wake up to eat. He is getting so strong! He has been able to roll from his tummy to his back a couple times, and has almost rolled from his back to his tummy. He has started to take interest in toys and other things and tries to grab things that are in front of him.

Ashton. Where do I start with him! He has entered what I call the "terrible toddler" phase (I decided that it's not just when they are 2 it's the entire time they are considered a toddler). He loves to scream and run around, often at the same time. He climbs on everything! from the chairs to the tables, and the couch. He has even tried to scale the shelf we have our fish tank on. I am constantly telling him not to do things. But unfortunately with his age, his listening skills are not that great. He is still a sweet boy though. He will stop playing and come up to me just to give me a kiss. It just melts my heart, and I just forget about the little terrorist he has been. This past Saturday, he was playing with a folding camp chair and pinched his finger. It bled a little, but I didn't think it was too bad. A few days later, I noticed his finger nail had started to lift off the nail bed. Yesterday the nail fell off. I tried to get a good picture of it, but they all came out too bright and blurry. He is just being a typical little boy!

Kyle has been super busy at work. A couple weeks ago he was able to take a paint tinting class, and he passed the test with 100%! I knew he would, but he was worried because the first night of the class, he wasn't understanding things. But he read the book, and asked the painter questions, and felt much better the next day for the test. He is getting so good at painting things. Here are a few pictures of what he has painted so far.

His Racing Helmet
His Playstation... Silly, I know, but I think it turned out kind cool!
He is becoming so talented at painting. He wants to learn how to do custom painting. If he did that and was good at it, he can make about double what he would as a normal painter!
I have been adjusting to being a mommy of two kids. It's been a struggle at times, but I'm slowly getting the kids and myself on a better routine. I have some goals that I am hoping to accomplish this year. I want to start school sometime this year. I don't know when but I'm hoping it will be no later than this fall. It will be so much easier for me and for Kyle if I wait till Triston is older and is eating more solid foods.
I was reading one of my friends blogs and she had named a lot of her luxuries, and it reminds me of all that I have to be grateful for. I take a lot for granted. I have been so blessed in my life. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful boys. They all light up my life. I was feeling very depressed yesterday, and I wasn't sure why, but I think of these things that I do have and I realize things could be so much worse. I am blessed with great friends and family.
I hope to get into the habit of blogging a lot more this year. So stay tuned :)

Where has the time gone? We are nearly half way through November. In the last two months Kyle and I have gotten settled into our apartment, Triston has been born, Kyle has turned 24, and I've turned 22. I can't believe how fast this year has gone.
So, I'll just start from the top. Kyle and I found a really nice apartment for a great price in Taylorsville. We got all moved in and settled around the end of September. The beginning of October was spent getting ready for little Triston to come!

Triston David Walker was born on October 15, 2010 and 4:47 pm and weighed in at 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 19.5 inches long! Labor was quick, compared to labor with Ashton, and I only had to push for about 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the epidural didn't take so it was the longest 15 minutes of my life! He is doing so well! I can't believe he will be 4 weeks old on Friday. He is starting to hold his head up all by himself and is awake more during the day! He is a totally different baby than Ashton was. He is a bit more temperamental than Ashton was, but that's okay, he is still a sweet baby boy! When he wants to eat, he lets me know and doesn't stop until I've fed him!

Ashton is such a cute big brother! He loves to give Triston kisses and hugs, but sometimes he can be a little overbearing with him. I have to remind him that baby Triston is a lot smaller than him, so he can't sit on him, or lay on him! But, I know he's doing it with love! His favorite movie is Cars and he always wants to watch it! I will usually play it for him while he eats his breakfast. When he sees Cars merchandise at the store he points at it and says "Lightning!" He's very enthusiastic about it! Kyle and I find ourselves constantly quoting the movie. I guess this is a normal phase to go through because I went through it also with The Little Mermaid!
Kyle just turned 24 and we had a nice relaxing day for him. We went to dinner and hung out with his brother. I just turned 22 on Sunday and I don't really feel any different. It has been a very eventful year for the Walker family. We have been very blessed. We got another beautiful baby boy and Kyle got his dream job. I am able to stay home and raise our children and do projects that I enjoy to do. I am excited to have our family pictures done in time for the holidays.

I really need to get better about posting on my blog!
It has been crazy summer! Kyle and I moved to Southern Utah, and just recently Kyle was offered a job back in Salt Lake as a paint prepper. So, he's in Salt Lake working and finding us an apartment, and I'm in St. George waiting. I am not excited about the move, simply because I'm so far along in my pregnancy, but the Lord works is mysterious ways.
We found out that we are having another little boy! His name will be Triston David. I am so excited even though I was hoping for a little girl, but where Ashton and Triston will be so close together it will be good for them to have each other as little playmates! Hopefully we will be the next ones to have a baby because then it will be a little girl! That's how it seems to work for our family. Boy, girl, boy, girl pattern! Triston will hopefully be here around the middle of October. My expected due date is October 18th, so we'll see. I feel like things are going so much quicker with this pregnancy. Which is fine, I just don't want Triston to be born a premie. He can come as long as he's healthy.
Ashton is definitely keeping me on my toes! He is so active and keeps me very busy. I have hardly gained any weight with this pregnancy, just because I'm so active! A whole whopping 11 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight! That will just mean I have less baby weight to lose after! Ashton is growing up so quickly I can't believe it. He is talking so well and he loves to sing songs, read books, dance, and of course play. His favorite song is The Itsy Bitsy Spider. He loves to listen to music and dance to it. When we're in the car he'll bob his head to the beat of the music. He is so smart. He is learning how to clean up his toys and where they go. I'm going to try and teach him some numbers and the alphabet when he's about 18 months old. I found a cute toddler book pattern that I can adjust and make several different books, so he can learn his shapes, numbers and letters! He is starting to get on a good eating and sleeping schedule. He knows that when mommy puts him in his crib, it's time to go to sleep. He's down to just one nap a day and it totally makes a difference in his behavior and attitude if he gets that nap or not.
Kyle is loving his new job. He is working at Abra Auto Body and Glass in West Valley. He loves it there. He feels like he has already learned so much from this job. I am so proud that he is doing what he wants to be doing and is happy!
I am still working at American Eagle (very little, thankfully!). When I get back to Salt Lake I'm just going to switch to the floorset team so I can keep my benefits, but not work nearly as much. I also plan to go to school either in January or in the spring. Hopefully in January, but I may not be ready to leave Triston yet. I can't believe we are already in September. Ashton is 16 months old today! He is growing up so fast and I'm glad that I am able to stay home and watch him learn and grow. I'm thankful that Kyle wanted a job where he is making enough so I can stay home with our children.
Life is good for us right now and it just keeps getting better everyday!

Well it has been a crazy year so far. Kyle and I are expecting our second child in October, Ashton turned 1 this month and now Kyle and I are in the process of looking for a new place to live since our lease is up in August. So with a new baby on the way and trying to find a new place to live we are very busy.
Kyle has been very busy at work. He is learning so much about his job and is progressing very quickly! I keep telling him that he could be a painter in a couple years if he really keeps it up! I'm trying to encourage him to go to school, and get his degree in automotive painting so he has that under his belt.
Ashton is growing up too quickly. He is walking, talking (some) and is turning into such a little boy. He will tear the movies off the shelf and scatter them all over the floor. He loves to look at books and if he sees something in the book that he likes, he points at it and says "what's that?" It is so fun to see him grow up and learn new things. He is eating only big boy food now and he loves it! He is not a picky eater at all and I am thankful for that. It makes making meals so much easier!
I have been feeling great! I am in my second trimester and the nesting has definitely kicked in! Our apartment is so small, there is only so much cleaning and organizing I can do! I have been busy with work, Ashton, and being a mom and wife! I love it all!
We are not sure what the sex of the baby is yet. Kyle thinks it's a boy, but it was still too early to tell when we found out how far along I was. I am still just referring to the baby as "baby" but Kyle will call the baby him or he. I am still hoping for a girl! Then I will have one of each and maybe be done with kids. But who knows. When this one is 2 or 3, I'm sure I will be baby hungry and will want more. We'll see.
I hope all is well with everyone and wish you all love and happiness! I miss all of you that I have not seen in a while and hope we can see each other soon!
We love you all!

We love you all!
